Victaulic, the world's leading manufacturer of mechanical pipe connection systems, today announced the launch of its new Victaulic 124 Series Installation-ReadyTM butterfly valve in South Africa, an ideal solution for HVAC applications.

The new butterfly valve brings innovative solutions to the pipeline field that has been stagnant for nearly half a century, and will bring many benefits to customers. The 124 series valve can achieve 360-degree positioning for optimal flexibility, and is designed for deliberately low-key weight and size, and is now on the market to bring simplicity before complexity.

Victaulic product manager DJ Wolbert commented: “Flange wafer valves have always been a pain point in the industry; they not only have a lengthy installation process, the star-shaped tightening of bolts and nuts, but also a higher risk of misalignment and a cumbersome maintenance process. We believe that the installed valve provides a completely unique product and alleviates the existing problems, because all the installer has to do is push the valve onto the grooved pipe or fitting and tighten the two bolts and nuts To complete the installation."

This new type of valve is made of stainless steel discs, produced in Europe, suitable for stainless steel or carbon steel pipes. Combining the valve and coupling functions into one product design, customers can save additional costs by using one product, while three products may have been needed before. Victaulic envisions that the new valve is suitable for HVAC applications and will be more widely used in general industry.

The new model is an addition to the recently released E125 Series Installation ReadyTM butterfly valve that was launched on the market earlier this year. The difference between the E125 series and the new 124 series valve is that the latter is used for OGS trough profiles, while the former uses StrengThinTM 100 troughs for thin-walled stainless steel pipes.

Wolbert continued: “The key is to be able to provide the right valve for the right solution. With the introduction of the E125 series butterfly valve and now the 124 series valve, our customers can now not only benefit from this unique thin-walled stainless steel valve design, but also Can benefit from carbon steel pipes and thicker stainless steel pipes."

The valve is available in DN50 – DN200 | 2”-8” sizes, designed for systems up to 16 bar | 1600 kPa | 232 psi and bidirectional service to full working pressure. It also provides standard ISO 5211 stem and flange geometries to accept most gears and power actuators.

The compact design of the valve allows a cheaper, faster and safer installation process. Visit the Victaulic website to find more detailed information and product information
