Netafim America is starting its drip irrigation pipe recycling business in Texas.

Netafim USA was established in 1981 and is a subsidiary of Netafim Co., Ltd., a global leader in precision irrigation solutions. It provides growers with innovative drip irrigation technology to optimize water and nutrient delivery and ultimately increase yield. Netafim’s recycling expansion will initially be concentrated in southeastern Texas, and plans to expand the recycling business to other parts of the United States

Netafim of the United States took the lead in using recycled materials to manufacture drip irrigation pipes to meet the LEED green building rating and certification requirements. After opening its California recycling facility in 2007, Netafim invested heavily in research and testing, which allowed the company to refine its proprietary process to incorporate recycled content into drippers without sacrificing performance and quality standard.

In March 2019, Netafim launched Streamline X ReGen, the industry's first drip irrigation pipe containing recycled content. That year, the company received millions of dollars in grants to fund the expansion of its ReGen recycling business. Netafim currently collects, shreds, cleans and pellets thousands of tons of used irrigation pipes every year.

"Netafim has led innovations that make agriculture better, including the industry's first vertically integrated drip irrigation recycling solution," said Chuck Bates, Netafim's vice president of U.S. Products and Agronomy. "Opening a recycling business in Texas represents the latest step in a series of important steps we are committed to sustainable development, and through a complete, end-to-end, closed-loop drip irrigation recycling solution to help minimize the impact of agriculture on the environment Impact.

"Sustainable supply chains are the backbone of today's agricultural economy. We are committed to taking decisive and strategic steps to improve sustainable agricultural practices, optimize yields, and improve the livelihoods of today and future generations of farmers," Netafim America Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Officer Mike Hemman said.

"There is no doubt that climate change and other external factors have created new urgency for local growers to adopt more sustainable agricultural practices. We must provide farmers with innovative solutions to solve these problems and the practical problems of operating agricultural operations. Continue to support them," added Danny Sosebee, Netafim's Agronomic Relations Manager for South Central America.
