Corinth Pipeworks, a steel pipe segment of Cenergy Holdings, announced the award of contract for Port Kembla Lateral Pipeline project by Jemena Asset Management Pty Ltd to its wholly-owned subsidiary, CPW America Co. The project involves construction of a 13km of 18-inch diameter High-Frequency Welded (HFW) linepipe with certification to transport 100% pure hydrogen. The linepipe will constitute internal epoxy lining, FBE coating, and supply of induction bends. Corinth will manufacture the High-Frequency Welded line pipes in its facility in Greece and deliver them to Australia in the course of 2022. Once completed, the Port Kembla gas pipeline project will connect the upcoming Port Kembla Energy Terminal to the existing Eastern gas pipeline which stretches 797 kilometers. “This award highlights the significance of our technologically advanced solution for hydrogen certified pipes and the utilization of our state-of-the-art hydrogen testing laboratory,” read part of Corinth Pipework’s statement. According to Corinth Pipeworks, upon manufacture, the pipes will be tested in-house in full compliance with the ASME B31.12 code requirements. The award of the contract has demonstrated the importance of the company’s state-of-the-art hydrogen testing lab and the advanced technological solution for hydrogen-certified pipes.
